What a renewal adds
A $19.99 purchase includes 12 months of updates for up to 2 Macs. A renewal costs $9.99 and adds another 12 months, so your license receives the versions released in that time. Renewal is a separate one-time payment and is never charged automatically.
If you do not renew
1Layout keeps working. Every version released before your update period ended stays yours to use, and you can download those versions from the release notes. The app checks for updates every day; when a newer version was released after your update period, it points you to this page instead of installing it.
How to renew
Sign in to the customer portal with your purchase email and choose Renew updates on an eligible paid license. The Worker creates a fresh hosted checkout session for the separate one-time $9.99 product; the browser never builds a checkout URL or sends a license key.
Renewing early adds 12 months after your current update expiry. If the license is already expired, the new period starts at the payment time. A full renewal refund removes only the 12 months added by that payment; later renewals and the original license remain intact. Ledger mismatches and partial refunds go to manual review. The 14-day refund period applies to renewals as well; see the refund policy.
